David Burke is a documentary filmmaker and former 60 MINUTES writer/producer who came to Paris for what he thought would be a year, but turned into more twenty. He now divides his time between Paris and New York.
Besides Writers in Paris, he has written two editions of HarperCollins's Access Paris, a travel guide to Mediterranean France, and numerous articles for magazines and web sites. He and his wife, the award winning producer/director Joanne Burke, have also made seven documentaries over these years in Paris and are working on a eighth. David Burke is a graduate of Yale University, a world traveler, and an active member of Toastmasters International. In addition to his writing and filmmaking, he enjoys doing David Burke's Writers in Paris Walks and Talks, a series of literary strolls in various parts of the city, the Latin Quarter, Saint Germain-des-Prés, Notre Dame and the Ile Saint-Louis, the Marais, Montmartre, and others.
